Jeff MacGregor is the owner and head coach of the brand new box CrossFit431. Throughout his life and starting at a young age, Jeff has been involved in many sports including hockey, golf, soccer, badminton and volleyball. However, when Jeff turned 16 years old he decided to focus his time and efforts towards his junior hockey career where he played two years with the Charleswood Hawks (MMJHL) and two years with the Campbellton/Restigouche Tigers (MJAHL) in New Brunswick.
After his MJAHL career Jeff received a CIS hockey scholarship to Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he played four seasons with the Dalhousie Tigers and graduated with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Kinesiology (the study of human movement).
After graduating from university and hanging up the skates, Jeff was desperately searching for a way to find that competitive edge once again. While working as a personal trainer for a few years he was introduced to CrossFit by his old college roommate and box owner Jeff Larsh (Tidal CrossFit). Jeff decided to try it out so he bought some recommended “Home Gym/Garage” CrossFit equipment, outfitted his apartment’s patio and nearby oak tree, and started to WOD. After a few complaints from his neighbours, he decided that he outgrew his home gym, and chose to take the next step and join a box. As Jeff began training at CrossFit Roborean his love of CrossFit and the community that surrounded it began to flourish even more. His passion for fitness and CrossFit continues to grow each day and because of the never ending excitement surrounding sport and coaching, it has led him to open up his own fitness facility, River City Strength & Conditioning (Formerly CrossFit 431).
